Humanism 3 was created applying acrylic paints to clear-gessoed canvas, so the neutral background is the color of the raw canvas rather than white. The painting process began on unstretched canvas while pinned to a studio wall; and while lying on the studio floor. Rob usually repositions a canvas multiple times during creation to ensure a level of abstraction without a clear up, down, horizon, or other obvious references to natural space. Additional insight into the creative process can be found by following on Instagram and Facebook.
